Cookie Policy

Last updated

This Cookie Policy explains how River Credit Labs, Inc. ("River", "we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on river.one (the "Site"). It supplements our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle Personal Information more generally.

In short: the Site sets one strictly necessary cookie to remember your choice, and runs cookieless analytics only if you allow it. There are no advertising cookies, no social-media pixels and no cross-site tracking.

01

What cookies and similar technologies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device so it can remember something about you between page views or visits. "Similar technologies" means other ways of storing or reading information on your device, such as browser local storage, and scripts that collect technical information about your visit. Where this policy says "cookies" it covers all of these.

02

How we use them

We group the technologies on the Site into two categories. Strictly necessary storage is always active because the Site cannot honour your privacy choices without it. Analytics is optional and stays off until you turn it on.

Strictly necessary

  • river_consent (cookie, first-party). Records whether you accepted or rejected optional categories, the version of this policy you decided against, and when. Expires after 6 months, after which we ask again. Set only when you make a choice, or automatically as a refusal when your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal.
  • umami.disabled (local storage, first-party). A flag that tells the analytics script not to record anything. It is written when analytics is off so that, if you later withdraw consent, measurement stops immediately without reloading the page.

Analytics (optional)

With your permission we use Umami, a privacy-focused web analytics tool, to understand which pages are read and how visitors arrive. The script is not loaded at all until you accept analytics.

  • What it collects. Page URL and title, referring site, browser and operating system family, device type, screen size, preferred language, and the country and region derived from your IP address.
  • What it does not do. Umami sets no cookies and uses no persistent device identifiers. Your IP address and browser signature are combined with a salt that changes every day into a short-lived hash used to count sessions; the IP address itself is not stored and visitors cannot be recognised across days or across other websites.
  • Do Not Track. The script is configured to respect your browser's Do Not Track setting in addition to the consent choice you make here.

What we do not use

The Site does not use advertising, retargeting or social-media tracking technologies, and we do not sell or share Personal Information for targeted advertising. Fonts and images are served from our own infrastructure rather than from third-party networks.

03

Hosting and server logs

Like every website, the Site is delivered by hosting infrastructure that receives your IP address and browser request headers in order to send you the page and to protect the Site against abuse. These records are short-lived operational logs, are not used to build profiles, and are covered by the "Automatically collected technical information" section of our Privacy Policy.

04

Your choices

  • The consent banner. On your first visit you can accept all categories, reject everything that is not strictly necessary, or manage each category individually. Refusing is as easy as accepting and does not limit your use of the Site.
  • Changing your mind. Use the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of any page to reopen the panel and change or withdraw your choice at any time. Withdrawing consent takes effect immediately.
  • Global Privacy Control. If your browser or an extension sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a refusal of all optional categories and will not show you the banner.
  • Browser settings. You can also block or delete cookies and site data through your browser's settings. If you delete the consent cookie, we will ask for your choice again on your next visit.
05

Changes to this policy

We will update this page whenever the technologies we use change, and revise the "last updated" date at the top. If we add a new optional category, or change the purpose of an existing one, the banner will ask for your choice again.
